NOPD OFFICER TELLS HOMELESS WOMAN TO CALL THE SHOW FOR HELP
The September 3rd program had its twists and turns as the phone lines were busy with callers from the streets of New Orleans as well as from across the region.  One of the most unusual calls came from a homeless woman in the heart of the French Quarter who was advised to call the program from a New Orleans Police Officer who was listening to the show in his cruiser.  Another call came from a listener who praised the program and wondered how the homeless had access to cell phones to call into the show.  Johnny L. explained to the man that there were Desperate Reality Street Teams armed with cameras and phones reaching out to hurting and homeless people who needed help.

SPECIAL GUEST POLICE CHIEF TIM LENTZ
All of us at the New Orleans Mission and the Giving Hope Retreat are grateful to God for the great honor to work with numerous police departments and especially the Chief of Police for the city of Covington, Chief Tim Lentz.  Chief Lentz went live on our show this past weekend to share his heart behind the badge in helping men and women who are struggling and hurting, and in many cases treated as if they are worthless.  In a time where the police have been targeted as the enemy, this lie has been exposed that the police do care and love the hurting, and more than that, are Gods instrument here on earth.  Are there evil and corrupt people who where a badge?  Yes, just as much as there our evil people who are priests or business executives or fathers and mothers.  All people need the truth, the truth of Jesus Christ who came for sinners, which we all are.  Thank you chief Lentz and all the police departments who have partnered with the New Orleans Mission to help lost and hurting people!
